Wings open. The bird of the wide sky.
The bald eagle is the most recognisable raptor in America, and the safest patriotic print you can hang. The palette here is classic Audubon: warm cream behind the bird, the deep sable brown of the body and wings, the clean white of the hooded head and tail, and that one flare of gold at the beak and eye. Nothing crowds it. The bird is the page.
A fine-art print in the Audubon tradition, made as a giclée on archival paper. Drawn in the spirit of the old Birds of America plates, where every feather earns its line. It arrives ready to frame, or framed and ready to hang.
Unframed prints are on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308gsm, a heavyweight cotton rag with a soft matte surface and true archival life. The paper holds the warm cream tone and the dark detail of the wing without glare.
The framed option is a classic moulding, mounted behind glazing, printed on Enhanced Matte 200gsm. Choose black, white or natural. The framed print is not on Hahnemühle paper.
Three sizes: 8x10, 16x20 and 24x30 inches. Prints from $39. Framed from $99.
This is a bird that wants air around it. Give it a generous mount and a little wall to breathe.
Black or dark grey moulding sharpens the contrast of the dark wing against the cream. Gold leans warm and traditional, a fine match for the bird’s tone.
Hang it where the light is even. An office, a study, a hallway, above a desk. The spread wings draw the eye upward and give a room some presence.
A patriotic gift, a retirement, a Father’s Day. The bald eagle is the one raptor almost everyone responds to, which makes it the reliable choice for an office, a veteran, or anyone who loves the country. When in doubt, this is the print that never lands wrong.
The bald eagle is a sea eagle of North America, found near open water from Alaska to Florida. It is not bald at all. The name comes from an older sense of the word, meaning white-headed. Adults take four to five years to grow that white hood and tail. With a wingspan reaching over two metres, it hunts fish, scavenges, and often pirates catches from other birds. Once close to vanishing, it has recovered across the continent and remains the national emblem of the United States.
A glide held still, for as long as you keep it on the wall.
