New York’s state bird is the Eastern Bluebird, a species the state took more than 40 years to formally recognise in law. The New York State Avian Records Committee lists 518 species for the state, one of the longest checklists in the eastern United States - a count that stretches from Adirondack summit to Atlantic shoreline to Niagara frontier.
This plate gathers the signature birds of New York onto a single sheet, drawn in the Audubon tradition of close observation and honest colour: Bicknell’s Thrush, Cerulean Warbler, Peregrine Falcon, Black-crowned Night-Heron, Snowy Owl, and the Eastern Bluebird.

A composite plate wants room to breathe. Give it a pale wall, warm white or sage, and hang it at eye height where the palette can carry. A brown or gold moulding suits the cream ground; black or dark grey gives a more graphic edge. Keep it out of direct sun, which fades the colour over decades.
