Printed on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308gsm.

The Monk Parakeet (Myiopsitta monachus), also known as the Quaker Parrot, has a quieter charm than the big macaws and toucans: a green back, a grey face and a pale, scalloped breast, all worn with an understated ease. It is a genuinely unusual parrot, the only one that builds its own large stick nests rather than using a hollow, and escaped birds have set up hardy feral colonies in cities across the United States, which is part of why so many people know it.

The plate shows the parakeet perched on a slender twig, the green back and pale scalloped breast set against a calm, warm ground. It is rendered in a contemporary Audubon-inspired natural-history style with a soft paper-grain finish. It is a useful softer piece in a category of showpieces, and it lands especially well for Quaker parrot owners and for urban bird lovers who know the feral colonies, while still fitting the broader natural-history style. Paper and finish

Unframed prints come on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308gsm, a heavyweight cotton rag with a soft matte surface and true archival life. The surface holds fine lines and subtle colour gradients without glare, which matters for Audubon-tradition work where the cream ground needs to read as paper, not as a white field. The framed option is set in a classic moulding, glazed and ready to hang, in black, white or natural.

Sizes

Available as archival fine-art prints in 8x10, 16x20, and 24x30 inches, with framed and unframed options where available.
