The Hyacinth Macaw (Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus) is the grand blue showpiece of the parrot world: deep cobalt plumage, a heavy black bill, and a bright ring of yellow skin around the eye and along the lower jaw. It is the largest flying parrot on earth, a bird of the Brazilian Pantanal and the palm groves of central South America, and it is instantly recognisable.
