The Green-winged Macaw (Ara chloropterus) carries the drama of a scarlet macaw with a deeper, more mature palette. The body is a rich, dark red, the wing coverts run through green, and the flight feathers open into blue, so the bird reads as one long sweep of colour from shoulder to tail.
